I think part of the allure of the previous 7 wonders was the fact that I didn't know who was responsible for the list. It was just something handed down as an accepted list of wonders. Even if they were western.

But this time.....well, I know who is creating the list - the Internet. Some legacy.

And how many lists of the Seven Wonders will there be and when will it become Eight and Nine...

Something like this needs to be organized like Time's "Man of the Year" and it needs to be voted on by somebody besides snotty-nosed kids with a mouse.

Well if that were the case... "everything" would be a wonder of the world. Didn't you read the last issue of Time's Man of the year?

The problem is that only one of the Wonders on the previous list are still in existance. (Pyramids). So either it gets renamed as "The Wonder of the World" or we vote on a new list.

I do agree though, that scientists or historians, or archeologists, or engineers should be doing the voting. Not the public.

The Statue of Liberty? That cheese eating surrender monkey tower? Not on my list! Wonders are things like the internets, stereo, home theaters, Les Paul guitars and marshall amps, beer...and babes.

This just in. Authorities have decided to hire an expert to select the 7 wonders instead of the masses. The list, while not yet official, is rumored to be:

1. The Internet
2. Stereo
3. Home Theaters
4. Les Paul guitars
5. Marshall amps
6. Beer
7. Babes

8. Plimates

Is the voting for this thing stil on? I voted for my 7 favorites like a year ago.
