Test of Lincoln DNA sought to prove cancer theory
Test of Lincoln DNA sought to prove cancer theory
John Sotos has a theory about why Abraham Lincoln was so tall, why he appeared to have lumps on his lips and even why he had gastrointestinal problems. The 16th president, he contends, had a rare genetic disorder - one that would likely have left him dead of cancer within a year had he not been assassinated. picked by muppet 8 months ago

I'd heard the theory that he had Marfan Syndrome back in the mid 90's. It's very interesting. And what would have happened to the country if he had died in office from cancer or an aortic rupture?

I would say Robert Lincoln having the body encased in metal or concrete was more to deter graverobbers than to say "no testing"....

And for the record, my theory is that Robert Lincoln was actually the son of Steven Douglass. He was born barely 9 months after the marriage (gestation in humans is actually 10 months, people!), and Mary Todd's sudden acceptance of Abe over Steven was the talk of the town! They married quite quickly, too...

He was the only surviving child of the pair, and was at 2 other presidential assassination attempts! That whole family story was interesting and sad....
