Yay! French Elle's amazing no-makeup issue
Yay! French Elle's amazing no-makeup issue
The April issue of French Elle features eight female European celebrities--including Eva Herzigova, Monica Bellucci, Sophie Marceau, and Charlotte Rampling--all without makeup and, perhaps even more revealing, all entirely without Photoshopping or retouching of any kind. picked by Bornbad 7 months ago

It's so hard to find French magazines in Western Canada!

I like reading them, it's a good way to both catch up on fashion and practice another language at the same time.

it seems some of the commenters on the article actually condemns the magazine and the models from showing their natural face. i find that sad. how can they be happy with a woman who's happy with herself, when he will pressure her to always cover herself up with makeup and other beautifiers?

i'd rather be disliked for who i am, than to be liked for who i am not; i like to tell myself.

This makes me happy. I do not believe you need makeup or photoshop to look absolutely gorgeous.

I agree with one of the commenters, that the skintone's too evened out for it not to be either completely makeuped (foundation cover up) or for some photoshopping to be involved(better theory)

But at the same time I do commend these women for doing this. People have forgotten what natuarl beauty is and its time for a wakeup call!

I wish fashion magazines would stop using PhotoShop entirely.

I don't have a problem with them using make-up, because make-up is a part of the fashion industry and a lot of women enjoy using it from day to day. But the effects of PhotoShop a) have nothing to do with fashion, and b) can never be replicated in real life. Ordinary women end up competing with images that aren't even human.

I don't think it's right or necessary. We're not going to be physically sick if someone has crinkles around their eyes or a thick waist.
