The crap that some people spout when it supports their beliefs.

The whole article reads like a bunch of hokum but when you get to stuff like this:

alcohol is one of the worst drugs one can take for pain management
it descends into the ridiculous.

Articles like this are as bad as, if not worse than the anti-pot disinformation spread by its adversaries.

In what way does this article "descend into ridiculousness?"

The statement...
alcohol is one of the worst drugs one can take for pain management
is not the strongest of arguments but every other point the author makes is rock solid.

I'm not saying weed should be legal or that alcohol should be illegal, but you cannot deny the fact that abusing alcohol has far more destructive implications than abusing marijuana. It does illustrate the point that our nations drug and alcohol policy is capricious, at best.

You pretty much answer your own question with this:

The statement...

is not the strongest of arguments but every other point the author makes is rock solid.
Far from strong it's an outright falsehood. And to anyone who has experienced the pain relief that ethanol brings (either self or medically administered) will tell you that statement is ridiculous.

As for the rest of the article, instead of being rock solid it relies on things like:

Figures for THC-related traffic fatalities are elusive...

Rather than actualities.

I'm not saying weed should be legal or that alcohol should be illegal, but you cannot deny the fact that abusing alcohol has far more destructive implications than abusing marijuana. It does illustrate the point that our nations drug and alcohol policy is capricious, at best.
Your nation, not mine, but that's beside the point.

If you think that the implications of marijuana abuse are not destructive then read around the issue a little - starting here, for example, and then perhaps moving onto here.

Yeah.

Your guy doesn't mention the testicles, does he?

The main problem I have with this sort of journalism is that it has a tendency to evangelise THC as the drug that can do no wrong - this is far from the truth, and as I say is as bad as the anti-marijuana lies used against it.

This article does not contribute anything to an honest and open debate and so does not further the cause either way. It just fog an already foggy issue further.
