I don't care if it was staged. Any Kaufman is good Kaufman.

I remember reading something (I can't remember the source) that Kaufman lived the character for a while. I do think he was probably in his alter persona

I am sorry to say that I never jumped on the Kaufman is a Comedy God that many others did. Okay, he was great as Latka in Taxi. He had tremendously talented writers supplying him with a interesting character and superb dialog which he took to new heights with his talent.

Other than that, he was one of my least favorite "comedians". Lip syncing to mighty mouse? Wrestling with women? These are not the works of a great comedian, these are (in my opinion) the lame no-talent work of a performance artist.

His characterization of Latka showed that he did have talent, so I know he was capable of it, his other work is what I just couldn't get into.

Latka was great. I never dug on his women wrestling thing, but everything else he did amused me to no end.

I'm with you 2many... I never really cared for him unless he was in Taxi. Then, he was funny.


This fight however, doesn't look staged to me.
