That's actually right where I live. All of this sounded vaguely reasonable till he got to the part pushing herbal supplements. Seriously, I'm just not seeing it. I mean, if he is a Dr in New Braunfels, why is he pushing the Wimberly pharmacy? It's not even close to convenient, it does however compound... something is fishy with this...

Of course, if you don't see me around again, I was wrong.

I'm still wondering as well...

So "patient zero", that 4 or 5 year old boy, had a "headache and sore throat and had to lay in bed a few days", according to the link from Fark. Scary. That sounds like most of my days anyways...

According to CDC, 13,0000 people have died of "flu" this season, so there is a concern about catching ANY flu, but this one seems not only mild, but quite similar to allergy symptoms currently being felt across the nation.

My stepdad had TWO bouts of swine flu in the early 70's, and it nearly killed him. He was a healthy young Navy man at that time. This new flu just seems.. wimpy...

I love how the guy talks glowingly about how Oscillococcinum has been "vindicated" and then he sends you to the Wikipedia entry, which tells you that there are no clinically relevant effects...

Also, the whole N-acetylcysteine thing is based on nothing solid either - one mouse study that showed no effect above control by itself, but a substantial enhancing effect on the power of ribavirin (not approved for flu in the US - d'oh). Guess where ribavirin is approved for flu though? Mexico!
