Man Sues For $1 Over Right To Wear Skirt In Public
Man Sues For $1 Over Right To Wear Skirt In Public
A man sued the New Orleans Police Department, claiming he was harassed by an officer who threatened to arrest him for wearing a black pinstriped skirt to municipal court. Jeremy Don Kerr is asking for $1 in damages, a ruling that his rights were violated, and an order against barring access to public facilities because of gender stereotyping. picked by AutumnLotus 7 months ago

Good for him. It's ridiculous that he would be threatened to be arrested for wearing a skirt, and it's hard to say that he's doing it for the money when he's suing them for a buck.

This is the same New Orleans famed as the home of Mardi Gras, all round party town?

Where I understand the tradition is that female revellers expose their breasts in return for bead necklaces?

And they're worried about a man in a skirt?

Bunch of nonsense, it is just as ridiculous as the bans against women in mens clothing. It is just clothing, if you don't like it then look the other direction.

I think it's about wearing the skirt to court, not in public.
We have males here, and in most big cities, that dress worse than that on the streets. Mini skirts, fishnet stockings, stiletto heels, etc.

Why the court should be different, I don't know. Do they have a dress code?

Oh...good idea...let's ban women in men's clothing. We wear shirts right? And trousers...and kilts (that's kind of like skirts) and robes (sort of like dresses). Well women it's the ol' Eve look.

Although I wouldn't be caught dead in a skirt, if a guy wants to be laughed at for wearing one into a bar (I guess it could be "that type" of bar...so no laughter would ensue...but whatever) so what? He's got his peep-n-show covered.
