What he seems to be suggesting is that if only it was known to be illegal, a stop would've been put to it in a timely manner. This is rather curious sounding- if it's against the laws of Wisconsin, then it requires prompt action. If it's only against the holy laws of the Almighty, then it can be shrugged off.

Uh.. So being coerced and forced to participate in same-sex sexual behavior as a minor by a trusted authority figure is A-OK, everyone will be fine if they just learn to forget about it.. vs.. consensual sex between two loving, but not married adults, is shameful, disgusting, sinful and will damn you to hell?

Really, it's no wonder Catholicism baffles me.

At least these two had "conventional" (but not in the eyes of their church) relationships with adult women. And had hidden children. And only one of them embezzled their local church donations to support their family...
