but if they 'free' the SL from the lab that created the software, isn't it like PETA saving goldfish from a tank at the doctor's office? How will SL go on without, i dunno, source code?

Man, I'm having a hard enough time for REAL life. Now I have to worry about something that does not effect me WHATSOEVER ? (I don't own SL, and I don't wanna)

If Linden Labs OWNS Second Life, doesn't that sortof give them the upper hand by default? I'm assuming they can ban whomever they choose for whatever reason.
I'm guessing that behind all this is a group of cybergeeks with a strong need for a [REAL] social life...
