I'm not sure I understand what the deal is on linking to my blog - that's where the story is. I can't write the whole story on Plime.
Why is a blog any different than any other website? I hope plime is not going to start taking on the elitist approach that has made wikipedia much less popular than when it started out.
If someone works hard on writing a story, what is the problem linking to their blog? If you say self promotion, I disagree. Because someone may have a few Google Ads (and makes literally like 10 cents a day off them)?
So then does that mean that all of the newspaper and other websites that Plime does allow cannot have advertising on their website? Sites like Plime are supposed to be offering people an alternative to traditional news. When you make that comment, immediately a bunch of people mark a story down who otherwise would not have.
That's too bad. I'm going to start a service like this that allows bloggers to link to their website when they write something and let the readers decide instead of some contradictory guideline. The web was intended for ordinary folks to have a vehicle to express themselves, but has now turned into a corporate enterprise. I've been online since 1993 and the change is troubling.
So I guess Plime is just another news aggregator that uses the good grace of many people to build up its website traffic (and therefore capital) yet blocks those very people who built it up. This is a dangerous precident to set. That's the big edge that Digg has over Plime. Don't get me wrong though, I love Plime, I just don't understand the justification for blocking blogs from linking but corporate media websites are just fine.
Plime is an editable wiki community where users can add and edit weird and interesting links. Users earn karma when other users vote on their actions. The more karma you have, the more power you have at Plime.
Not only is that the common rule all over the internet, but even in RL, talking about yourself over and over is considered tacky.
You can post your own site in the forum, which is more a informal gathering. You can also post something from your site in the comment section of an article.

Perhaps you should peruse the raging debate found in the forum on this very subject. Nothing aginst you personally, its just that you are essentially posting spam. This site is not here for self promotion. At least that is something we all agree on. thanks. :)
