Besides the lactose intolerance, the thought of drinking a glass of chocolate milk on a hot day is nauseating. The phlegm created is pretty bad.

I add a teaspoon of D-Ribose to a glass of cool water. Rebuilds the muscles, quenches the thirst without adding calories. If I need salt, I eat sunflower seeds. Salt + EFAs in one happy snack.

As it goes, I have tried it.

It's all over the place in Hong Kong, so I decided to see what it was like.

It's not unpleasant. Sweet, fizzy water really.

A bit like Lucozade, if you have such a thing in The States. Except not quite as strong a flavour.

We don't have Lucozade, but after Googling it, it seems somewhat like Gatorade. But Gatorade isn't fizzy. And has that very slight salty aftertaste, like sweat.

Then no. Not like Gatorade.

It's fizzy and sweet. More like Pocari Sweat than Gatorade, I'd say.

My brother had some in China and said it tastes like the American drink, Fresca.

Never had that, but it gives me an idea of what it tastes like.

How's he doing out there?

He's alive. He's been somewhat busy proctoring tests, etc. He hopes to have some free time this summer to travel. As it is now he works 6 days a week.

On his facebook account he keeps everyone updated concerning his gastrointestinal exploits. I expect he won't ever eat Chinese food again.
