Wait, why did the tank go up? Are they designed that way so as to not hit the plane releasing it?

Doh! Nevermind, I see from the other angle it just appears to go up in the first shot.

Why doesn't he eject? As far as I can tell he had enough time to eject there, but I don't see anyone ejecting. I wouldn't know though I'm not a fighter pilot.
