Now 79 and seriously ill, train robber Ronnie Biggs is set to be released from prison into a nursing home.
NB - Since posting, the Home Office refused his parole application and the story at the end of the link was updated.

Crazy. He was born in 1930 and robbed what in today's economy was probably pennies. He also was involved in a society worlds away from our own. Makes you wonder if keeping him this long was really necessary.

This was an awful crime resulting in the death of the train driver but Biggs is dying so why use taxpayers money keeping him in any longer!
