There is speculation she's doing this to focus on her Presidential campaign for 2012.

If that's true, I think she just screwed her own campaign. All of her opponents will say that she couldn't finish a single term.

Not a good political move, Governor.

That's strange.

I wonder if she's avoiding something bad coming out about her? Blackmail? Time with Trig? Presidential race 2012?

Hmmm

you bet me by 9 minutes :(

From another source:

Palin said her decision came after much “prayer and consideration.” She did not want to waste time on “political blood sport” and cited public criticism of her actions and her family since the 2008 campaign.

I'm not a fan, but I do feel bad for her. Granted, she shouldn't be in politics if she can't handle it, but I don't think that she deserved a lot of the flack she's gotten.

I for one applaud this move.

Finally something has knocked Michael Jackson out of the media spotlight.

I think she's stepping down so she can go to Mexico to have a torrid meeting with Mark Sanford and she knows it's going to come out.

If this is the reason, I totally agree!

Would we accept her if she got 3 years of ambassadorial level training from the likes of Karl Rove (arooooooo....)? Would it help her to be less of a bimbo?

If she DOES run, I will need to be locked away during that time, I wouldn't be able to stand the stupidity spewing from her gob.

It's the natural order of things. MJ did it for Jon and Kate, and now Palin is doing it for MJ.
