How To Determine If You're Middle Aged
How To Determine If You're Middle Aged
When do we become "middle aged". Grammatically it may be at halfway through our estimated lifespan. But what about socially? Here is a list of songs. Look at what year you no longer can hum the songs - that is the year you became middle aged. picked by 2manyusernames 5 months ago

"Middle"? That's anywhere between 30 and 80(if you think you're going to live 160 years).

For me, it says it happened at the age of 23. That's probably more accurate than I would like to admit.

So I hit middle age before I was born? LOL!

The LAST year I could identify and hum some from that list was 2002. 37 is a bit young. I can hum and sing the number 1 ROCK hits for every year. I never was into pop songs...

I can hum about every other song on the list.

Sorry, but presuming age based on musical taste? In a day and age when listening to custom radio and iPod is as ubiquitous as cell phones? If you don't want to listen to an artist, the means are available to avoid it entirely.

Might be more telling if you DON'T listen to some sort of customized musical choice regularly.

That;s rubbish, Every so often in the list there is a tune I know and lots I don;t. It just depends whether the song caught your imagination at the time!

I haven't hit middle age yet but I think it has a lot to do with Claire being 11 years younger than me (she is still in her early 20s).

Look like I hit middle age either at 12, or before I was born.

I worked from the bottom and made my way to the top. Apparently I hit middle age 20 years before I was born because I couldn't hum and sing one song on the list.

I was 21...about the time I stopped listening to the radio...coincidence??? I THINK NOT!

So remember boys and girls the moral of the story is...stop listening to the radio and you will become old...old and gray...old, gray and bald.

Apparently, I was prematurely middle-aged at 21. Should I take that an omen of an early demise or evidence of my hatred for pop music?
