Silly question: if the remote is voice controlled, why even use the remote at all? Make the TV/DVD/... itself voice controlled and you won't need all those extra remotes cluttering your living room anymore.

But, if they go to voice controlled TVs and whatnot, what about people who cannot talk? How will they change the channels? I would hope they will have a remote that does both. Seems to be the smarter solution.

I think if the TV itself was listening for commands, might a character on your program change the channel? haha. I can just imagine listening to an actor in an interview talking about his movies and your TV is just flipping the channels by itself...

I still don't see the need to change the remotes. Is it really that hard to learn a few buttons? I like the ability to say something like "search for Julie Andrews Musicals" and get what I want, but how about just adding that feature to a simplified remote, instead of eliminating buttons for voice control...
