I agree with a ban. It IS sacred to them! In the cultural center by Uluru, aborigines beg you in a video to PLEASE show respect and only walk around the base. The site is where their people take part in a sacred ritual, so it's understandable that it's upsetting.

Also, people have died making the climb. The only thing to hold onto is a rope-pole system--not even proper climbing equipment.

You can see the beauty and wonder of it by looking at it, not climbing all over something considered holy.
