LOL! Nah I was being serious. Inequality in right-wing countries such as America is a serious problem.
Edit: I dislike Obama for two reasons. 1. The cult that has grown around him and 2. He's not left wing enough.

I hadn't noticed my comment appears to apply to your post also. I was reacting to pvis111's apparent outrage in the text of his post.
1) President's always have cults. Sane people ignore it. 2) He has broken a lot of promises already, but that is what politicians do. We have learned to not expect otherwise.
Its a bit crazy that people have this belief that one person represents the opportunity to fix the economy, stop the war, repair human rights worldwide, create equality of opportunity in America and never make a mistake in public. But that's the expectation.

I saw that you upvoted my original comment, lol, so I figured it was something like that.
The truth is the % numbers are not a genuine reflection of the actual tax paid by the wealthy. It always looks shocking, but the extent of shelters, deductions, loopholes and such knocks the actual percentage of tax that they must pay, (if they bother to pay it) down to a much smaller percentage of income than us mere mortals pay.

And even paying 50% tax on say $1M means they made more than TEN TIMES what hubby and I made (and paid taxes on) COMBINED!
