Hospital Shows a Way to Save. Doctors Get Salaries, Not Fees
A move toward salaried physicians is seen as a way to help rein in medical costs, but not everyone is sold on the idea.
Changing those policies is crucial to the success of health care reform, economists say. “Our proposals would change incentives so that doctors and nurses finally are free to give patients the best care, not just the most expensive care,” the president said. picked by Bingo 4 months ago

It's interesting how the healthcare agenda talks about doctors and nurses as if we get paid the same way. With rare exceptions, nurses have been salaried employees since the beginning of nursing.

For the sake of the country and their childrens' futures, I would hope doctors would be willing to work for a salary rather than incentives. Something would have to be worked out in relation to malpractice suits for that to happen though.

You don't get something for nothing.

wow... I feel incredibly ignorant. I thought doctors already worked on salaries rather than incentives... it just makes sense to me. For heaven's sake I hope they change it.
