Find Swedish or Norwegian coverage of the story and they'll probably make more mention of that.

If that's the case, I should be the most attractive dude on the planet. My wife doesn't cook well, would live out of a laundry basket if I'd let her, and only cleans if she knows someone is coming over. She doesn't work in the yard because she has environmental allergies, says that carrying out the trash is "man's work" and won't clean the bathroom because she gets grossed out. All of this begs the question, "Why did I marry you?"

Can I be pedantic for a moment and remind that it "raises" the question? "Begging the question" is a logical/rhetorical fallacy which unfortunately seems to come into focus at about the same frequency that phrase becomes abused, even amongst the intellectual "elite," which gives me no rest.

I apologize for being such a grammar-d*ck.

That said, I might answer "Because she's lovely," and "There was a reason why you wanted to marry her."

My own Mother couldn't cook her way out of a paper bag until about 50, but even after she did, we all still prefer her hackneyed
"Old South" recipes.

There's been just a great comfort in that.

Wow, you're a jerk...I think the question is "Why did she marry you?"

*sigh* Gender constructs come down to a division of labor issue for the most part, so of course a lighter division of labor seems attractive for either side.

That being said, I thought using the phrase 'begs the question' was a cheeky way of anthropomorphizing the situation, much like 'my toilet wants scrubbing'. No?

Because I do the housework, I guess.
