 The Creepy Breastfeeding Doll
The Creepy Breastfeeding Doll
If you have kids and you’ve breastfed in front of them, chances are, your toddler mimics.
Now a Spanish doll, under the guise of teaching little ones that breastfeeding is normal, is trying to capitalize on lactivism. picked by nateebiinature 4 months ago

Actually, in Texas you are forcing a child to perform sexual acts if you breastfeed (see ), so letting another kid mimic this should warrant jail time, right? And the theme pic for this article? We should all get criminal records for viewing it *eyeroll*

WTF? When that girl grows up and has a kid of her own, she'll probably breastfeed it with either her bellybutton, or a bunch of flowers.

Ew...

I never understood the fascination with "realistic" babydolls. Why do we need toys that poop? Or pretend to suckle? Or cry?

Dolls without batteries win. If my kid got this, and we had to keep it, I'd just take the batteries out. Better toy!

You are so right Lynx! The toy that encourages the most imagine is the best one hands down. My girls always pretended the baby was "poopy" or needed to eat. Etc. Even more amazing is there babies could talk! man if only those babies could really talk! They would be able to give us an earful!

Sick! What is the reason to make children grow up so fast?

BTW... is there a reason I can't find an image of the stupid doll on that site?

I don't think that pretending to breastfeed a doll is growing up too fast all my kids who have seen their Mom feed a younger sibling have pretended to breastfeed a doll. Its just pretending to be like Mom, a bit weird since 4 of my kids are boys...but they didn't know the difference between boys and girls (didn't want them growing up too fast).

and as for this...
Problem is, the Beb Glotn makes breastfeeding seem more unnatural and strange than a natural human process. One commentator, MSNBC’s Dr. Nancy, went so far as to say it “set back feminism 150 years.”
Kind of biased to say that it makes breastfeeding more unnatural than normal human breastfeeding.
Also how does allowing your child to mimic the mother (a woman) set feminism back. Why does "feminism" seem to want to make women more masculine???

I wish I could upvote you twice. I thought the same thing about the feminism thing. How is teaching your little girl about breastfeeding going to hurt feminism? I have a 3 year old and an 8 month old that is about to be weened (finally got top and bottom teeth). The older one watches me feed the baby sometimes and in the beginning she really took interest in her own "boobies". She would lift up her shirt and tell me that babies eat here. I don't think the doll could be detrimental in any way, a little wierd, but not detrimental.
