This guy:
Last week, during Obama's health care town hall in Portsmouth, N.H., a man carrying a sign reading "It is time to water the tree of liberty" stood outside with a pistol strapped to his leg.

"It's a political statement," he told The Boston Globe. "If you don't use your rights, then you lose your rights."

is an a*****e.

For those who aren't sure, the Liberty Tree is watered with blood.

So no, he's not just making a political statement about the right to carry weapons. He's making an implied threat.

No, the gun carriers didn't break any laws, technically, but it's an a*****e move and pushes a political debate beyond conversation and into "implied threat."

I had no idea a concealed weapon was a bigger threat than one openly carried or strapped...that's what that inane permit law is saying. The whole thing sounds insanely volatile to me.

I just don't understand why anyone would think showing off a weapon would make the 'other side' want to take them seriously. It's like walking around waving a stick in the air, the last thing I'd want to do is talk to you, much less listen to what you're saying.

Mao Tse-Tung said "Change must come from the barrel of a gun."

And there's not much from the Little Red Book that sits hand in hand with the American way of life.

Generally people who bring firearms into governance are called undemocratic. Further, they are almost always known as The Enemy.

The behaviour of these people constitutes one of the stupidest things I have read in a long, long time.

It has been pointed out by many people that the United States is heading into a Fascist phase. Gun totting goons marching through crowds of demonstrators seems to be adding a few more bricks to the wall.

What is the worse thing that could happen if the only people who dare show up at town hall meetings or protests are psychos with their guns? Perhaps Molotovs will be next. After all, gasoline is certainly not illegal to carry, nor is a glass jar. WE have our RIGHTS!!!

hmmm...

can you imagine if this kind of thing happened during the previous administration?

what a piece of s**t double standard nation of f**ktards we have become.

--Commit treason, loot the treasury, lie your way into a war that costs countless (literally) dollars? No biggie.

--Consider ensuring that children and working people will be guaranteed access to the medical care that their labor and wealth helps to make possible? Aw, Hell NO! No he didn't!

Seriously, these dips**ts are the white equivalent of the chicken-head half-literate blackitude population.

Why is it always about race? Sigh. Besides, this, actually, is the guy..

What exactly are they protesting...the fact that they *can't* carry guns (which obviously they can) or the fact that they *can* carry guns (which is unlikely). So what are they b***hing about again?

The concern is that loaded guns + an emotionally-charged environment = a bad combination. I agree but it is the law there and, for the moment at least, it makes for BIG security issues. But that's not what you meant nevermind. :P

Yeah that's what the British called them alright.

I believe they are people that love their freedom and want to make sure that people realize that they are still free to carry their weapons. They didn't seem to upset the law enforcement element, so obviously they weren't very threatening. These are people that believe that they have a right to defend themselves and their families from oppression...much like the people American's proudly call their forefathers.

I think there is an easy way to deal with this obnoxious behavior. Simply start a countermovement that has people carry signs and handing out pins to people that explain that guys that bring weapons to protests are compensating for a small penis. Any man being jerk enough to intimidate through faux forefather comparisons and showing a nation that they can carry assault rifle (which will do wonders against the US army's missles, tanks, jets, bombs, long-scope snipers, etc), shall be henceforth be patted on their back and told that we're all sorry about their penis being so small.

Do you really want to insult a man with an assault rifle??? Just sounds like a bad idea to me.

Toting an assault rifle around for no good reason (heck, at all, in this country) sounds like a bad idea to me.
