They're technically wrong about heels. The original purpose of heels were to keep the wearers feet on the stirrups, which generally meant men were wearing them. They didn't become truly gendered until the 1800s.

The title of the article is Men's Fashion that took off...I have never seen nor heard of men's strapless ANYTHING in my entire life. To me, that means it didn't take off.

I have heard and seen all the other things listed...so they qualify.
