Idiotic Political Correctness Is Alive and Well
Idiotic Political Correctness Is Alive and Well
Certain groups in Ireland are requesting that people refrain from using such sexist words as "master bedroom" or "master a subject". Also any use of the word black in less than glowing terms is verboten. Terms such as "ethnic minority" are frowned upon because 'minority' may imply something less. picked by 2manyusernames 3 months ago

The term “right-hand man” is also considered taboo by the gallery, with “second in command” being deemed more suitable.

Second in command? That's a no go.

How about First Executive Assistant. Second sounds so... not first.

What a load of bollocks. I don't know anyone in real life who thinks this way or avoids any of these expressions.

Load of nonsensical old bollocks

Ha, very true. There's probably isn't a word anywhere that won't offend somebody.

Could you please refrain from using the word "somebody?" Somebody implies one needs an intact body to be included. The preferred gender neutral terminology should be "someperson."
Thank you.

Could you please refrain from using the word "someperson"? Someperson implies one needs to be a person to be included. We from the planet Cromz prefer to hear the term "somebeing". Thank you.

N.B.: Make that "somebeing(s)", we wouldn't want the hive-mind of the Brzzzt system to feel excluded.

Being also implies needing to have some sort of existence.

Let us just do away with the suffix and say "some."

You can mock, but I was once employed to remove all references to mouse clicking from a training document because it might have caused offence to disabled people who have to use different input methods.

I laughed at how much I was getting paid to do that.
