An older kid gave me a party line number in 7th grade, which was 1980. I remember spending hours on it after school, but no phreaking. It was a creepy world in there, just as the article describes. Trashy girls, and dudes "lookin' to party." I loved it. Really glad I never discovered the moderate function, though, that could have turned out poorly.

Personally I think his sentance was WAY too light. He should have the same sentance as somebody that has performed armed home invasions because that's really what's he's done, even if he tricked somebody else to hold the gun.
