Waterslide stunt exposed as clever fake
Waterslide stunt exposed as clever fake
A DEATH-defying stunt video that attracted more than a million hits on YouTube has been exposed as a fake.

"MEGAWOOSH Bruno Kammerl jumps" features a German engineer apparently taking his life in his hands by careering down a DIY waterslide at breakneck speed before landing in a paddling pool. picked by AutumnLotus 3 months ago

Actually, I considered it when I first saw it, and decided it could be real.

If they had enough tests with a dummy that weighs the same as this guy, and they get the aim right, well then it's perfectly possible.

Stupid, but possible. And I don't think he'd die from the impact, it's not that far. People jump more than 50m off cliffs into water and that's perfectly fine. This guy's going at an angle, and not much more than that, so it's plausible.

*goes to search for the actual statements saying it's a hoax.

I never thought this was in any way real. Not claiming some Internet Prescience, but the way they depicted the body landing seemed way too sudden and violent for a human to have not made other News about it.

Still a nifty little film, though.
