Where are Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton to call racism? Why won't they defend the white boy?

Not wanting to watch the video :( ..things are sometimes not what they seem at first glance. It could be that some unrelated history between those kids precipitated everything, something that we don't know about. I hope it isn't racially motivated, because that would be utterly and insanely stupid.

Didn't look like there was any provocation to me - the white guy just looks like he's stuck there and taking it. He doesn't appear to fight back at all. Before the serious beatdown it looks like they're harassing and pushing him in his seat.

I drove a school bus for a year.

This probably could have been prevented with a seating arrangement. I would keep the bullies and the touble makers right behind me so i can keep an eye on them. That bus doesn't look so overfilled that the driver should have a problem knowing each child by name.

And I would have parked that bus and refused to move it until a police officer was dispatched to remove the assailants from the vehicle.

My bus driver in Junior High kicked a kid off for calling someone a butt licker (they were just joking around). He had to walk home. I suspect there are laws against this, so your idea sounds much better.

Also, Josh, the story says that both witnesses and Police say that the attack was not racial motivated.

I was trying to work out how Josh got to racism from the article but it looks like the whole article was rewritten in an update.

I saw the video and this was not just a couple of kids in a scuffle. I don't care what provoked this, it was a savage beating and the attacker deserves to be charges with attempted murder. I've seen this before while attending a middle school in Louisiana where whites were the minority and gangs of black kids would beat the daylights out of white kids. And we wonder why kids carry guns to school.
