The only part of this article I disagree with is the "even blacks can be racist." It's silly to think they couldn't be — but then it explains a theory lower down about racism requiring power, so that sorta makes sense from that perspective.

The points I really liked were that a) calling everyone racist makes it seem no one is really racist and b) that everyone is a little bit racist (it's true).

I'm glad someone from the AP wrote this. Lately, nearly everything that someone say negatively about the President is charged with remarks of racism.

These claims need to be saved for real racism, not for petty remarks like "You lie!"

I'm tired of almost everything that happens getting that label. It's ridiculous. Though with the first black pres, it really isn't a surprise.

It turns an legitimate debate into a petty argument about the intent of one's comments. Claims of racism generally kill debates.

More people should heed the morals of Chicken Little and The Boy Who Cried Wolf.

When racism, sexism, and other bigotry is alleged too often (and for petty or unsubstantiated reasons), the value of those words is diminished. It takes away from actual instances of such behavior.

Get over it.
