The team said they made this proposal because he was not a scientist. The State Board of Education has not voted for or against that proposal yet. It won't vote on the social studies proposal until January.
BEHOLD! the ignorance that is the State of Texas Education Committee...

Which coincidentally affects (along with California) what is placed on text books and taught in classes across the country...

There is a dumb...

Maybe this is the first step to revealing the moon landings really were a hoax.

Just kidding!!!

Seriously though, how can you leave out the first landing on the moon? Or who was involved. The famous first words...

The school board needs to stop smoking crack.

This really seems like mountains out of molehills. It's a freaking 5th grade social studies book.

It isn't like it's an aerospace class in high school. Or has anything to do with aerospace.

Social...studies.

Did you even read the article? It says that they are considering removing him from a "science strand" of the book. Besides, I would consider the space race and the first man on the moon to be a part of our society worth studying.

Yeah I did read it.

So to you a strand of science, something that I would equate to a sidenote, must be a big section of the book?

It appears that Texas is very determined to be the new home of stupidity in our nation, overtaking Arkansas, Alabama, and even Florida.
