Customer Beaten to Death by Walmart Employees
Customer Beaten to Death by Walmart Employees
At Walmart, theft is not tolerated. At least not at the Walmart in Jingdezhen, China, where a customer died at the hands of Walmart employees who suspected her of stealing. picked by ruthstark 2 months ago

Wal-Mart = cheap P.R.C. made good.
So, in China, it seems they'd make even more of a profit. So what's this all about?

Customer?
Really?
If a 'customer' came to my house, he could expect the same.

I had a 2 hours' long comment brewing about WalMart and their capitalist practices versus their presence in China... CHINA!

But I eated it when I remembered everything I might say has been said already by better and more well-known debaters than me, so I just shutted up.

But the idea that someone actually DIED over this incident? Perhaps they need to update their newhires' Orientation Manuals' section on shoplifters for their Chinese Infiltration.

I wonder if customers in the Chinese Walmart complain about all the cheap Chinese made crap in there the way we do?

According to the article, there wasn't really any evidence that she was stealing anything.

And even if she was, do you really think that a person deserves death for shoplifting?

Also, this was a store, open to the public, not someone's private home. Again, even if it was, do you really think breaking and entering warrants the death penalty as well?

Why beat her to death?? They could have just forced her to be the "greeter" for the day... that'd been punishment enough.

if someone breaks into my house while I'm home they will be shot. I will ask them questions later.

They make less of a profit. The prices aren't the same in China as in the US. Standard of living isn't as high here, so prices are lower. Also, Walmart isn't as common or "popular" here in China. I'd have to travel an hour to visit one.

If someone were to break into my place I would use whatever force necessary/at my disposal to make sure my self and my room mates were unharmed.

I would think that anyone would, regardless of where they're from.

Oh, and I'm from Texas.
:)

That being said being beaten to death for stealing from a store is ridiculous and wrong. I was just commenting on how I would respond if someone were to do this to my place of residence.

And if just holding the gun on them until the police arrived would suffice, would you restrain yourself to just that? Or would your first response be to take a human life, whether it was necessary or not?

Obviously neither one of us can say "oh this is exactly what I'd do" because I've never been in that situation and I'm assuming you haven't either.

What people do in times of such high stress and adrenaline is really unpredictable.

My best guess is that I would yell for my room mates to wake up while he or she was subdued and have them call the cops. Let's hope their quick huh?

But then again all of that would require me owning a gun.

I don't.
