"Interesting" story, and a cool picture. But I'm not sure how this is 'news', per se. The story has no attributions or cites that can confirm this actually happened.

An unnamed family…
Really? What source failed to provide this family's name?

Apparently, after the family had given it away, the doll was later sold on for a considerable amount of money.
Sold how, and to whom? Cite?

What caused it, we can only speculate on.
And then there's no speculation, no ideas, no plausible ideas for consideration of this 'phenomenon', just a "Meanwhile, here's a bulls**t article to entertain you."

Sorry. I did read the whole thing, but saw no mention of any credible/creditable source of confirmation of the claims made in it. I don't see how that's considered news.

Agree. If there were more "facts" I would consider this news. It sounds more like just story telling. But a good one! That doll certainly is creepy.

My thought was cheap foreign plastic and the high temperatures that are often associated with an attic. Last summer I had to pull all new wire into my bathroom through my attic. I lost about 5lbs in 2 hours.

"But I'm not sure how this is 'news', per se"
The UK newspaper the Sunday Express considered it news on 27th September in relation to a book being published by the author quoted in the article.
Surely any topic that is put into the public domain for the first time is news?

About the picture: what creeps me out most is the life-like eyes.
