Well, that article was informative for me. I learned another reason why I don't like religion and all the restrictions/headaches it tends to bring with it.
I remember hearing about this debate over twenty years ago. At the time, Israeli elevator call switches were being replaced with ones that were supposed to "solve" the challenge.
Instead of making a connection (considered "work") these switches broke an existing connection (think "relay") which then resulted in the elevator being called.
It's an eternal battle between those wishing to be true to their religion but wanting to massage those aspects of it that are inconvenient to them.
