OMG, I swear my best friend is the one who started this. I noticed back in junior high (which was like 15 years ago) that she always made this face in the mirror while drying her hair. This is back when Alicia Silverstone was super-hot and Clueless had just come out. She was trying to make her lips look like Alicia's instead she just looked like an idiot. GAWD I wish I had taken a pic back then to send in, maybe I could get a prize for the first duckface.

I was so nervous that I might be on that site, I went through 24 pages before I realized I'm guilty of making a *poutface* and not a *duckface* so hopefully I'm safe. If my friends ever sent in my pictures to a site like that there'd be hell to pay!!

Having a sixteen year stepdaughter, I'm all too familiar with the duckface, eyes looking up in the corner, with the occasional gang sign flash that looks like she's just giving herself the peace sign sideways.

I've told her repeatably how dumb it looks, and that a generation of her peers are going to look back on these photos in horror, twenty years from now. She's a teenager though, so it falls on deaf ears.
