They mentioned in the video that it should slow down as the altitude decreases, but still, a pretty dangerous situation.

But the kid's name is Falcon.

A friend of mine in the area can see it. She doesn't think there's as much to worry about as the media is saying there is.

So, I was watching "War of the worlds' when I changed to CNN and freaked out.

Live feed video says the balloon is losing helium and dropping some... 6500ft now. Still moving fast it seems.

Hopefully it doesn't crash too hard when it comes down.

...I bet the kid thinks it's all neat. Unless the turbulence kicks up, he probably thinks he's having a great adventure... it's a lot scarier for the adults on the ground.

The suspense is killing me!

CNN is speculating and saying that due to the flight pattern from the beginning, they don't think that he was ever in the balloon in the first place.

Well...yeah. If the thing came down and there's no boy inside...and it's unlikely he popped out for a brisk walk while flying...he probably wasn't ever in it.

I vote on checking under his bed.

let's just hope the kid doesn't drown in the pool at the back of his house while all the grown ups are watching a balloon

The police searched the house after the report came in and did not find him.

They said the police have already searched the house and the surrounding area in case he actually wasn't in it from the beginning. They didn't find him in the house according to the first report.

I sure hope this doesn't turn out to be a hoax, like the brother wanted to play a trick on mom and dad but it went too far.

Now an 80 mile stretch of area is going to be searched. That is a lot of time and resources if he is hiding in the neighborhood too scared to tell the truth.

I hope they find him and that he is safe! But I am more skeptical now knowing that this family was on Wife Swap and seeing the father's conspiracy videos. It had better not all be for media attention!!!
