I cleaned up your post a bit so you didn't give away the whole story!

Anyway, good job on Obama. Now, he should just encourage states (and Congress) to repeal laws against marijuana!

Here's something I bet you won't see every day. I agree that we should decriminalize marijuana. I know that's not unique. Here are two reasons why my opinion is unique... 1. I'm a Republican. 2. I don't smoke pot.

I'm not surprised. As a Republican you probably don't want all of that taxable income going straight into organized (or disorganized "Hey got a dimebag") crime. Too many people these days seem to think that Republican = Conservative. While Republicans ARE fiscally conservative, the whole 'family values' ticket isn't supposed to be as high priority as it's played out to be.

As for number two, I don't see why you wouldn't, but it's your choice.

You know, I probably would if I could, but I can't. I've tried it on a few occasions, I just couldn't inhale it.

because if they stopped harassing petty drug dealers and prostitutes they might have to arrest suburbanites, or worse, people with wealth.

In that day and age though, people with wealth used it (at least to some extent) to help people.
In my eyes it's not an admirable trait on it's own.
