« Hypersapien : Its speed is never more than the normal speed of light. It arrives at the destination faster than c should allow because it is skipping some of the intervening distance.
And that's exactly the way you can travel faster than light without going faster than light...

I was rather sceptical about the whole article, but here's some more info on newscientist.com

K, I took off for a week as my last posting here was replied to with basically "We don't want you to, but you should leave" (?)
I thought I'd drop in see what's what and saw this. I've made comment on the quotes that ConfuseUs dude posts and how damn s**tty it is that the guy get's voted down for it all the time. Also, didn't some dude get thrown off the site recently for making an edit to someone's comment and it's happened here to confusUs and no moderators have said anything about it

My last post here was about the nazi-like attitude of some people (some of y'all are great :))here. It's off putting when you see your posts being voted down for no good reason which is why I've thrown it out there before when it's happened to me. For a n00b, it sucks to see your comments constantly voted down.

if you guys want to see the site grow to reddit, digg proportions and all the new members, fresh ideas and opinions and posts that that brings then you really should do something about people here that seem to think they run the show. Otherwise people like me will keep leaving and that'd be a shame for a site that *could* be a good thing, not just for the select few but on a bigger scale and for all involved.

Anyway this took me forever to type and it's just my 2cents.

Transversing C can cause massive lateral time malfunctions. (Look up one post.)

Still, while I support the sentiment of your last post here, I think you'll find a wider audience for it in the forum somewhere -- maybe a thread you started, to help identify it? Just a suggestion.

« Moe : Actually Jerry the second half of his post was a comment that someone else edited in. It said something like "You've been warned about your quotes. Keep it up and you'll be a -1 in no time"

They were talking to ConfuseUs, not the other way around.

I will take credit for editing the "You've been warned about your quotes, .." bit out, not sure who edited it in though.

So, we just build this huge photon barrier between here and Alpha Centauri - then we just have to tunnel around it, and bingo! Wait...
