Not to be cruel, but I wonder if Halloween allows people with disfiguring handicaps to comfortably be themselves?

I'm thinking "Awesome costume bro! How did you make it look like you only have one arm?" might make for an awkward situation when you reply, "I got my arm torn off by a tractor when I was 6."
