Woman Tweets Her Abortion
Angie Jackson decided to live-tweet her abortion to 'demystify' procedure. Not surprisingly she has received mixed reactions. Interview with her and links to her twitter account and YouTube video. picked by suebe 2 years ago

I'll just say that there's nothing mixed about my reaction, and leave it at that.

Pro-choice or anti-abortion, I think I speak for many people when I say this is just plain tasteless and brainless.

Is it best that we don't talk about such things so they can be ignored or mystified? I am sure that many people are curious about what happens with RU-486. I am also disgusted that an adult woman has her family threatened for talking about this.

It is not pointless or brainless for anyone to discuss what they do if their chosen birth control method fails. People should tell their kids to have "safe sex" but then hang them out to dry if something goes wrong?

No, you are right about what you said. But tweeting it is just attention whoring IMO.

Her entire point in doing it was to get attention for the issue so "Mission Accomplished". This is a really personal issue that most people won't talk about and women that have to face this decision with little or no information are often very scared. I personally think it was really brave of her to put this out.

I'm not saying your wrong..................

but,

Maybe I'm showing my age here, but what seems sad to me is the lack of couth. I have friends who have had abortions. I cannot imagine either of them publicizing it for the world to know.

I have no opinion on the pro/anti debate.

It just seems in this "Reality TV" world that we live in, we teach people it's a great idea to be crass and to just live as loud and proud as possible. I don't see her actions as brave at all.

I can absolutely see what you are saying. It does seem that people like to wear their worst moments as badges of honor. I can see where it is very easy to dismiss this woman as an attention seeker, and maybe she is. We have a few days to watch it all play out and if she ends up with a reality show on Bravo or guesting on Dancing with the Stars I will concede that her motives were truly crass.

Twitter gets more annoying by the minute.

Sorry, I have to run. I'm going to go Twitter about my bowel movement.
