I would say mistake.

(Note however that the video does not reveal the race of the female cop)

Yes, of course it is a mistake. Sadly there are those who play the race card on every aspect of life. Get a rude waitress? Must because of racism. Have to wait a long time till you get a seat? Must be Bush's fault and his racist policies.

Kids not doing well in school? Again, racism.
Bad guy in the movie is of ____________ descent? Must be racism etc etc etc

There are those who make a huge and profitable living due such bulls**t.

Well I do agree with 2manyusernames that too many people pull the race card unnecessarily and this was obviously a mistake but racism doesn't always have to be on purpose.

I think they pretty much spelled it out. She pulled up and saw a black guy wrestling with a white guy and naturally assumes that the black guy was car jacking the white guy. That is somewhat racist even though she probably doesn't mean to be. I don't think it was malicious just unfortunate.

She obviously saw the security guard as the agressor because he was wrestling with the other guy to try and stop him getting away.

One of my good friends is a cop; and he thinks that tasers should be treated like pepper spray...

... in that you have to get hit with it before they will issue it to you.

the non-lethal nature of tasers means that many cops are alot more trigger happy with them.

An avoidable mistake. Why is a security guard not in a uniform? If I was in a store (and maybe stole something - NOT!) and a black man dressed in black started chasing me and yelling at me, I would be scared, and prolly run a lot faster!

The cop's only mistake was in not detaining the thief so she could get the whole story, make a report, etc. Take 'em all down, sort it out when it's safe.

I would hope the cop has learned about shooting first and asking questions later.

And remember, one race: human.

Well, the cop probably tasered the guy on top. At least she only used "force" and not "deadly force".

It looked like she looked in the passenger window first and then went around. I can't see why she couldn't break it up without the taser. What would she have done if she didn't have a taser?

The security guard sure is a whiner - he should be happy he doesn't have a broken jaw from a nightstick. Although... He was still laying on the ground and twitching which means she still had her finger on the trigger.
