So, our "Mountains of evidence" really came down to "Well, this one dude said so."?

In other words, the president is being briefed by the CIA, and asks "are you certain of this?" and their reply is "Well, this one dude said so."...!!??

You have to love spy games. This fellow was a revolutionary who got lucky. He wanted to oust a dictator, and his method was "lying to foreign intelligence agencies". The best part is, he may not have done anything technically illegal.

Think about it, if someone from, say, the KGB started asking you questions about your job, and you told him the truth, you've collaborated. You tell him a pack of lies, you're a patriot.

Sure, he had an agenda. Who doesn't? Sure, people died. Mostly his own people. And it cost a lot of money to invade... and rebuild.

But after he'd been checked out and debunked and the invasion happens ANYWAY? That's not his fault anymore. "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice? Shame on me." It'd be like if someone listened to a radio crackpot and invaded the moon looking for gremlins. Do you blame the crackpot?
