For those that recall, or know NFL history, Darryl Stingley was hit by Jack Tatum during a play in 1978. His neck was broken and he became a quadriplegic. A tragic event that led to many of the rule changes we see in the game today.

It was s**tty how quikly this guys career ended. But at least this opened the door to a more safety concious NFL.
