 Airlines consider new seating layout
Airlines consider new seating layout
Elbow wars over precious armrest space could become a thing of the past for flight passengers as airlines consider a new seating layout which would have some travellers facing the back of the plane. picked by AutumnLotus 3 years ago

Pack-em in folks!

Just another small step in mankind's evolutionary progress towards sardine-kind.

But, seriously, I can see the room for some innovation to design novel seating arrangements whereby more elbow and legroom is "created".

They should not underestimate homo sapiens' reluctance to look his fellow travellers in the face, though. Even true on elevators!

But then they won't be able to see where they're going.

That's weird, confusing, and it would probably leave some people totally unable to get out of their seats because other people around them had their seats leaned back. As a frequent traveller, I don't see this actually happening.

Passengers facing the back of the plane would be safer in event of a crash by being pushed back into the seat instead of being thrown forward...

... and be just an impression in the seat following the ensuing fireball racing through the plane.

Sorry, just thought that was an interesting "statistic".

Yes, as another frequent traveller, I think they've along way to go before they've sorted out all the issues, with access to seats probably the major issue.

(But I do look forward to some way in which I will not have to fight for elbow room with some inconsiderate fellow travellers...)
