They're saying 31 now including the gunman. Bad sh!t, I had to call my son (he's in Berkeley) just to hear his voice. *sad*

Apparently the deadliest shooting in american history? That's what they're saying on CNN.

The fact that there even is a term "school shooting" is appalling. It's hard to even begin to understand why something like this happens.

Another one? What's with these shootings? It won't surprise me however if suddenly people are going to start blaming video games, movies and stuff again... A shame.

I'm so glad that the highly-intelligent faculty and staff of the college jumped right on this and sent out that very important e-mail alerting everyone of the threat and the armed gunman at large.

What a bunch of complete idiots! There's some crazy b*****d with an automatic weapon running around and they send out an e-mail warning.

note: they sent the e-mail not after the first shooting but after the second. i know the school isnt used to this situation but it still should have been handeled better

I'm curious to know the gunman's motives. I think if I hear one more person accuse childhood bullying I'm going to scream.

I remember that truely horrible school hostage situation in Russia (last year or the year before?), but that was politically motivated.

My thoughts are with these students and their families tonight.

And I sincerely hope there's no follow-up, copycat incident. I'll have to open a can of tundramonkey whoop-ass if there is.

My little sister attends VT. She wasn't on campus that day, and I am immensely grateful for this.
