I started watching this video thinking, "here we go, for just three easy payments of $19.99 I can have one." but finished watching it with a, "Wow! Why doesn't every table saw have one of these?!"

The only thing I'd be suspicious of is that it looks like I've got to buy a new blade every time it misfires.

This would be a good idea for a high school wood shop. But I think you are right about the blades. This thing probably costs a lot to operate because it eats up blades.

You have to actually touch the blade. Count how many times you have done this without this device. Would you now be LESS careful? If you are "eating up blades" to the point that it is cost-prohibitive, you need a new hobby.

You lack the ingenuity of a high-school kid. :)

Shop class is a different thing. The school could probably get an insurance savings using something like this. Still a good idea for a home shop, too.

Unless you collect severed fingers.

That's what Norm Abrams uses.

My brother-in-law sliced off the top of his right thumb recently using a table saw. They re-attached it and it's healing pretty well, but looks groody.
