I just spent a long time in Dubai for my internship, and during ramadan they do a lot of promotion to inform the foreigners about the policies and stuff. Tourists who don't know could get into serious trouble, even for example by not wearing long sleeves. If you don't know, then you might spend a while in a jail... Wouldn't be nice.
The picture is a bit extreme though, especially for a country like Malaysia (which I think this is).

I think it may be some part of Indonesia - they are less flexible in some parts there. And - if it's meant for tourists, I guess it would have been more useful if written in English?

DOH. Okay maybe it is not for tourists... Was a nice thought though. I give myself points for that. The language looks like Malay though. But I assume it could be Indonesian as well. I'll ask my friend when he wakes up.
