 Irish teen wins abortion battle
Irish teen wins abortion battle
An Irish teenager has won a High Court battle in Dublin to be allowed to visit Britain for an abortion. The foetus has anencephaly, a condition which means that a large part of the brain and skull is missing. Babies with anencephaly live a maximum of just three days after birth. picked by makri 3 years ago

at least that spares her from having to go through labour of a child that has no chance of survival

As the case has evolved, I've seen many in the pro-life camp to take the same stance - some things just weren't meant to be. Putting the mother through pregnancy and labour just to have a dead baby on her hands would have been cruel, no matter how you look at the world.

It is outrageous that there were people actually trying to stop her from having the abortion in the first place.

At least reason and compassion won out in the end.

I'm glad to see the court finally came to its senses, but sad for the girl.

At least the girl was prevented from losing far worse than she could have.

Can't believe that there are still governments not realizing what they put the mother through. Imagine you were raped and you would have to carry the baby out because it is not medically hazardous to you and not a suicidal issue...
