The law in that State, however, doesn't recognize deception as rape, only force. The article actually says that the court asked the legislators to change the law. This usually means that a judge wants to act, but can't because the law doesn't allow it. The LAW let her down here, not the court. The Law should be changed. Unfortunately, that is easy to say and much more difficult to do. Things like this are wrong, but probably a lighter shade of gray than a knife-point rape. (Perhaps a different level, like murder being Murder 1, Murder 2, etc.)
Also, depending on how they worded the law, any guy that says "I love you" just to get laid would be guilty of rape. A stupid liar, yes.
