Dark Side of Oz Posted: 3 years ago by Mershaullk
Although Pink Floyd has never admitted to doing such a thing (except Roger, who stays quiet when asked), there are just a few points that should be examined. I guess you'll just have to come to your own conclusion. It's just the way it is with this band. But one thing this experiment does do is bring the theme of The Dark Side to life, whether it was intentional or not.

Food Tech's Dark Side: What Doesn't Make You Stronger Could Kill You Posted: 3 months ago by Bornbad
Eating is no longer just eating. Beyond tooth decay or bad gas, food has consequences. For our health, for the environment, for the giant, interconnected economy that feeds us, for poor farmers in far away countries, for rich farmers in the US, for the politicians we elect.

As Dubai's Glitter Fades, Foreigners See Dark Side Posted: 4 months ago by nateebiinature
Those who came to Dubai seeking fortunes in property, banking and luxury goodies for the rich now face a less alluring prospect -- a prison cell or furtive flight. Only a tiny minority has been picked up by police but, says a longtime foreign resident who runs a company here, "It's all a bit scary. They are looking for people to carry the can."

Mystery of Saturn's Two-Faced Moon Solved Posted: 2 years ago by AutumnLotus
Saturn's moon Iapetus has virtually no gray. Rather, its features are all stark black and white. The appearance has long puzzled astronomers. New detailed images suggest sunlight is melting ice on one side of Iapetus, leaving the moon's dark surface exposed, while the opposite half retains its reflective ice-mixed shell.

The Birth of Dark Energy Posted: 3 years ago by rambler
Distant supernovas (bright dots),
captured by NASA’s Hubble telescope,
open new vistas into the expansion
history of the early universe. As early
as 9 billion years ago, a mysterious
repulsive force known as dark energy
is seen exerting its influence.
Even weirder than dark matter—the invisible stuff constituting most of the mass of the universe—is dark energy, a mysterious force pushing the universe apart at an ever-faster rate.

Flip-Flop: Did the Moon Do a Turnabout? Posted: 10 months ago by Bornbad
For thousands of years only one side of the moon was visible to humankind as a result of synchronous rotation, a sort of orbital lockstep that keeps the moon rotating once for every lap it takes around Earth.

Germany could get robots to moon by 2015 Posted: 3 months ago by kakana
Hintze said the mission is worthwhile because 40 years after Neil Armstrong and Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin stepped onto the surface of the moon, it remains an "excellent research platform for the exploration of space," and an "archive of the solar system."

A Fight to Save Dark Skies Posted: 4 months ago by Bingo
In the era of 24/7 artificial light, real darkness is hard to find. But not only stargazers are affected -- light pollution also threatens animals and even entire ecosystems.
A small drama unfolds in the skies over Germany and other industrialized countries every evening. The sun sets, and yet it remains light -- so light, in fact, that one can hardly see anything.

Russia still blue over moon landing 40 years later Posted: 4 months ago by kakana
When Neil Armstrong stepped onto the surface of the moon, it was a first for the Soviet Union - the first time the U.S. had beaten the U.S.S.R in the space race. Forty years later, the memory of that loss of primacy still seems to sting the Russian soul.
