Aborigines banned from booze, porn
Australia's government have announced plans to ban pornography and alcohol for Aborigines in some areas. Yes, only Aboriginal people. They claim it will help stem a rampant child abuse problem among them. picked by Moe 2 years ago

And the reason for not worrying about the effects of alcohol and pornography on other groups of people is..?

Yup that's discrimination. The article mentions that some Aboriginal towns impose their own bans, but that people go to other towns on drinking binges.

It sounds like the government should try a different approach here...maybe education and rehabilitation.

I agree, I'm convinced that education is MUCH more effective than trying to control supply of pornography and alcohol. Controlling supply will not work anyway, and education is useful for many other purposes too.

Better to teach a kid to swim than to try fencing off every possible swimming pool, river, lake, sea and ocean, etc.

LOL, this reminds me of hundreds of printed posters that I saw on a university campus years ago, arguing for some "Eduacation" issue. Put together and distributed by some (now forgotten) group of students with some chip on their shoulder.

Second verse, same as the first. It's what happened to amerinds over here. Snatch away people's land, murder them when they try to fight back, treat them like lesser beings, deny them full acceptance into society . . . and gee, they start drinking? What a shock.

Why haven't the Aussies gotten a new prime minister yet ?

And why do other countries still work with such a racist pig ?
