Florida Mom Urges Ban On 80 Books On Atheism, Abortion and Homosexuality
Florida Mom Urges Ban On 80 Books On Atheism, Abortion and Homosexuality
Eighty books in high school library stacks are corrupting students with tales of abortion, homosexuality and atheism. That's according to a West Palm Beach mother who has appealed to the school board to remove the books from the shelves of Dreyfoos and Royal Palm Beach high schools. People/articles such as this make me want to break out my inviso-belt and space warping machine, using them to visit primary and secondary schools thoughout the bible belt, leaving copies of '120 Days of Sodom' in all their libraries... then sit back and watch CNN for the outcome.

So she wants her kids to grow up and become ignorant human beings..

People like that aren't fit to be parents in my opinion

On the other hand, her kids might make the guinness book of records one day for being the first 50 year olds to still believe in santa

Things like this piss me off so much, the only thing I can say is the fact that it pisses me off so much.

"My kids are going to school to learn, not to become a homosexual or an abortion doctor or an atheist," she said.
Yah, you "learn" to be a homosexual.
And you first must learn to be a doctor, to even consider practising abortion (and even then it often very fringe, but that's a whole other debate).

But I do oppose teachings for becoming an atheist. Instead, Everyone should know that the Flying Spaghetti Monster is the only true God.

Many, many people (many religious ones, especially) mistake 'feeling' for 'thinking'... Thus, if a concept FEELS 'wrong' or 'right' to them, based on the beliefs they've been deluded by (yes, ALL belief systems are delusional), then it MUST be 'true'. Rationality and/or logic don't even exist in that emotively based reality.

PS... JR 'Bob' Dobbs is the Flying Spaghetti Monster's cheese and marinera!! Ooo yaa...

LMFAO.

It is unbelievable that there is STILL this level of ignorance in the world.

This is the same crazy Florida lady that made them change the title of "The Vagina Monologues" to "The Hoohaa Monologues", isn't it?

Either that, or they've got to be friends. Mother and daughter, maybe.

Lopez admits she hasn't read a single one of the objectionable books cover-to-cover.
. . . sigh.

Even within her own home, reaction is split.

"My oldest son doesn't believe in God," she said. "I guess he kind of thinks I'm stupid."
I feel bad for the kid. He's probably not happy about any attention he's getting at school because of his ignorant, bible-toting ma.

Considering the evidence that homosexuality and tendancy to atheism are innate, I wonder if she'd be in favor of aborting future homosexual atheists?

Wonder how it would fly if someone tried to get all books that mention God and religion taken out of a school library, using the same reasoning.

Is this actually news? Some crazy woman is making an effort to get these books dropped, there are lots of crazy women doing lots of weird things. It's been rejected and of course will be rejected again, nothing happened.

When the books dó get removed, then we've got something to talk about.
